Thank you for participating in this survey.

We would like to understand your mobility behavior and your opinion about motorcycles, electric bikes in particular, and new ways of interacting with them.

It takes about 20 minutes to complete the survey.

The survey is available in English and German. If your native language is not among them and you don't feel comfortable with any of the languages just mentioned, you can use the "Google Translator" extension. This allows you to have the questionnaire translated into your desired language. Please note that the extension is only available in "Google Chrome".

Dear participant,
Thank you very much for your interest in our survey. In the following we will inform you about the purpose, procedure and details of the survey. Please read all information carefully.

1. Purpose of the survey
The survey aims at understanding when and why you use different means of transport. The focus is on the use of motorcycles. Your opinion on electric forms of propulsion and your attitude towards the use of so-called "intelligent clothing" and "intelligent equipment" in the motorcycle sector is also important to us. We will use the results of the survey to develop a novel two-wheeler concept with electric drive. In doing so, we consider the needs of both younger and elderly riders.

2. Procedure of the survey
The survey consists of approx. 45 questions (depending on your answers the survey will skip irrelevant questions). It takes about 20 minutes to complete the survey.

3. Which data is collected?
We collect the following data:

  • Demographic data about your person (age, sex, nationality)
  • Questionnaire data on your use of different means of transport, attitudes towards electric powered two-wheelers and new types of interaction between vehicle and rider such as Smart Clothes (“intelligent clothing”) or Smart Gear (“intelligent equipment”)

4. Undesired effects and risks
No undesirable effects and risks are to be expected.

5. Voluntariness
Your participation in this survey is voluntary and can be revoked by you at any time without giving reasons. You will not suffer any personal disadvantages as a result of a revocation.

6. Possible expected benefits
You will not gain any direct personal benefit from participating in this survey. However, the results of the survey may help to develop a new type of environmentally friendly two-wheeler concept. All participants that complete the survey will be entered into a prize draw for two main prizes (KTM high-quality protective clothing Man size M and Woman XL) and twenty other prizes (e.g., shirts).

7. Privacy Statement
The protection of your personality rights and thus your personal data is of high priority to the WIVW.
Personal data is any information helping to identify you as a person (e.g. name, birth date, address). The WIVW fully complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which regulates the processing of personal data.
For this reason, we only process your data if you have voluntarily given your consent to it. In order that you can make your decision well informed, we want you to know in detail what kind of data we will collect, for what purposes your data will be processed and how we will use your data.

a. Confidentiality and data safety
All personal data will be dealt with confidentially. Only employees of the WIVW and the project partners working with this survey will have access to the personal data. Data which allow to identify your person unambiguously will be stored separately from the experimental data (pseudonymized).
Only anonymized data will be transmitted to our project partners.
The results of the survey can be used for scientific publications. However, for publications only anonymized data will be used.
After completion of the survey data will be stored for at least 10 years in an anonymized manner and by using appropriate technical and organizational safety measures.

b. Your rights
According to GDPR you have the following rights in connection with your data. You can address the person responsible for the survey or our data protection officer to make use of your rights (contact information see chapter 7 c and d).
You have the right to withdraw your consent for data processing at any time. Data processing that has taken place before your withdrawal will remain valid.

You have the right to obtain information about whether and what kind of personal data concerning you are being processed, for what purposes your personal data are being processed, who your personal data will be transmitted to and how long your data will be stored. We kindly ask for your understanding that we might request verification of your person before delivering information.

Moreover, you have the right to rectification, erasure, or restriction of processing within your full legal rights. You also have the right to object to processing of your data within legal requirements. The same applies for your right to data portability. You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you are dissatisfied with our help and consider that the processing of your personal data is not in compliance with data protection.
